Companion Service

Companion service is a form of home care offering non-medical services to older adults or people with disabilities. Companion service differs from personal care in that personal care helpers ( also known as home health helpers) may give the same services as companion service but also help with tasks similar as bathing, dressing, and drug operation, depending on specific state regulations. The aim of companion service is primarily emotional support and socialization, although companions may help older adults with a variety of tasks including

  • Light housekeeping
  • Other house chores similar as washing apparel and dishes
  • Running errands similar as grocery shopping
  • Planning and scheduling appointments and social conditioning
  • Transportation to appointments and other conditioning
  • Preparing feeds
  • Socialization and entertainment
  • Communicating with family members and other care team professionals
  • And more
